Welcome! I’m Shiloh Jones of Jones Tones Music Studio.
Music has been a part of my life as long as I can remember. Whether singing my heart out at church, home or on stage, or playing piano or flute, it seems that most of my days are spent making music!
Since graduating with a B.A. in Music Education in 2000, I have gained almost twenty-five years of experience teaching general and choral music through public school or private instruction.
My husband and I lived in four different states before making Northwest Arkansas our home in 2013. We have been married for twenty-four years and have two children. Our son is a Sophomore in college pursuing a Game Design degree and sings in the top chamber choir. Our daughter is a Junior in high school and enjoys musical theatre and French Horn, but serves her fellow marching band members in her role as Drum Major.
I’m a member and Soprano Section Leader of SoNA Singers (Symphony of Northwest Arkansas) and extremely active in NAMTA (Northwest Music Teachers Association) where I serve as Co-Chair of Sonata/Sonatina Celebration and Membership Chair. I also serve our ASMTA (Arkansas State Music Teachers Association) as Membership Chair as well.
Along with teaching, I love being a life-long student! I enjoy weekly tap dancing class and community theatre productions, either on stage or as music director. Past acting roles have included Baker’s Wife in Into the Woods, Tanya in Mamma Mia, Mae Tuck in Tuck Everlasting, Miss Andrews in Mary Poppins and Marian Paroo in The Music Man.
All of these different musical and performing arts experiences mean that I have lots of tools in my teaching toolbox!
I provide a healthy balance of fun and focus in lessons, helping each student to reach goals and make progress each week.
I strive to help each student find joy in their musical journey, giving them skills to enjoy doing so for as long as they possibly can!
I hope you get a small glimpse of what our studio is all about on this site! I feel so incredibly grateful to have (what I think) are the best students and families in NWA!
